Alumina Ceramic Tubes (Corundum Tubes)

Manufactured with alumina (Al2O3)) as the primary raw material via shaping and high‑temperature sintering at 1600–1800 °C, these are high‑performance industrial ceramic tubes. They are mainly categorized into 95% alumina, 99% corundum, and 99.7% high‑purity corundum tubes. Featuring high temperature resistance, electrical insulation, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, they serve as

core components for high‑temperature, precision and corrosive‑condition applications.

I. Main Grades & Temperature Resistance Selection (Critical)

GradeAlumina ContentContinuous Operating TemperatureApplication Scenarios
95% Alumina Ceramic Tube95%1400 °CConventional electric furnaces, thermocouple protection, insulating sleeves, medium‑temperature conveyance
99% Corundum Tube99%1550–1600 °CHigh‑temperature furnaces, lithium‑battery sintering, metallurgical flow guiding, highly corrosive media
99.7% High‑Purity Corundum Tube99.7%Above 1650 °CSemiconductors, vacuum furnaces, high‑purity experiments, metal‑free‑contamination environments

II. Key Properties

  • High Temperature Resistance: No deformation or softening at high temperatures; excellent thermal stability and thermal shock resistance to rapid heating and cooling.

  • Superior Electrical Insulation: Extremely high volume resistivity, reliable high‑voltage insulation with no electric leakage, suitable for electrical equipment and sensors.

  • Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to acids, alkalis, salt spray and molten salts; inert to most chemical media.

  • High Wear Resistance: Mohs hardness of 9 (second only to diamond), far more wear‑resistant than stainless steel.

  • High Purity & Contamination‑Free: No precipitation of metal ions, ideal for lithium batteries, semiconductors and precision experiments.

III. Common Structures & Specifications

  • Types: Single‑bore, double‑bore, four‑bore multi‑hole tubes, one‑end‑closed protection tubes, straight tubes

  • Dimensions: Outer diameter 3–200 mm, wall thickness 1–15 mm, maximum length 2500 mm; custom sizes available

  • Functional Types: Thermocouple protection tubes, insulating sleeves, furnace tubes, flow‑guiding tubes, conveyance tubes

IV. Main Application Fields

  1. Thermal Instruments & Electric Furnaces: Thermocouple protection sleeves, furnace tubes for high‑temperature resistance furnaces, insulation parts for heating elements

  2. New Energy: Sintering of lithium‑battery cathode materials, high‑temperature conveyance of photovoltaic silicon materials

  3. Chemical Industry & Metallurgy: Conveyance of acid‑alkali media, flow guiding of aluminum/copper melts, molten salt pipelines

  4. Electronics & Semiconductors: Insulation parts for vacuum furnaces, wafer diffusion tubes, high‑voltage insulation supports

  5. Scientific Laboratories: Tube furnaces, muffle furnaces, high‑temperature crucible tubes for experiments, atmosphere sintering tubes

V. Selection Guidelines

  • For general high‑temperature conditions with budget constraints: Choose 95% grade

  • For temperatures above 1500 °C, corrosive environments or high‑purity requirements: Choose 99% or 99.7% high‑purity corundum tubes

  • For thermocouple use: Prioritize one‑end‑closed corundum protection tubes; use multi‑hole ceramic tubes for insulation purposes
